Massage can help with many health concerns. How often you need to get a massage depends on several factors. Muscles have memory. When your muscles are in the habit of being tight, knotted and uncooperative, it is important to get more frequent massages in order to change the memory patterns. Ideally, the following schedule should be followed:

  • Injury, chronic pain, chronic health conditions = 1-2 times per week
  • Reoccurring knots and muscle stress, pain = Every 2 weeks (Muscle Memory has a window of 2 weeks for corrective massage to work effectively)
  • Maintaining lower stress and basic improvement of health = Monthly

Please note: your body may be saying your need a weekly or bi-weekly massage, but your pocketbook might be saying you can only afford monthly. That’s okay. It is better to get a monthly massage that provides some relief than to go without because you can’t do as suggested.
